Information Access

Written by:

Today, mankind faces the quickest-changing pace in history due to technological breakthroughs. In this era, the internet plays an important role in exchanging information, which is the firm foundation for enhancing our well-being that is being discussed in this essay.

Firstly, the speed of exchanging information is never as quick as now. In the past, it would take days or even weeks to send a letter across the globe. Today, we can just take out our phones, write an email, or even make a video call to enhance our ability to convey messages. This means that researchers from China can exchange their findings with their peers in the US in the blink of an eye. Consequently, more and more innovations and scientific cutting-edge ideas would come to life at a faster speed than ever. Undoubtedly, these new technologies, machines, or devices would profit our whole society.

Moreover, the enormous accessibility of information helps us become more flexible and resilient to challenges. Some critics may argue that many people would be out of jobs as they could not keep up with the pace of internet development. However, they might be right in a particular area and forget to zoom out to see the bigger picture. On the one hand, this change puts many jobs at risk of being replaced by computers or robots. On the other hand, this change helps individuals acquire new skills much quicker and more conveniently so that they can make a change in their career rather than being stuck in their undesired one for a lifetime. All of this could only be done nowadays with the level of information accessibility.

In conclusion, the development of the internet has speeded up information exchange and personal development. Since scientists, innovators, and all of us can transform dreams into reality in a shorter time, I strongly agree that this will inevitably enhance our overall well-being.
